Read to the Dogs

Nippersink Public Library is excited about offering a wonderful opportunity to children learning to read. Reading to a dog, lets children practice their reading and communication skills while having fun!

Lula, Grace and their handler, Lisa Griffith, are certified through the Delta Society which means Lula and Grace are specially trained to be gentle and attentive with young readers.

Recent studies have shown that reading to dogs does help children learn to read.

Good Morning America "Reading to Dogs Helps Kids Build Literacy Skills."

Reading times are available for independent readers on Saturday mornings from September 4 through October 9.
